“Don’t worry I sewed her up tight”

I required an episiotomy during childbirth and after completing the stitches, my obstetrician-gynecologist said to my husband “Don’t worry I sewed her up tight”.  End result was painful sexual intercourse (pain at the scar site and painful stretching) for more than a year afterwards.  I learned to adapt using large amounts of lube, but this type of experience should never happen.
